Axon and Bonsai back Akamon with €2.8m
Axon Partners Group and Bonsai Venture Capital have injected €2.8m into Spanish social gaming firm Akamon Entertainment.
The fresh funding will enable Akamon to focus on the growth of its customer base, expand into international markets and launch new products. The company will also invest in R&D and recruitment.
Control of the company remains in the hands of the firm's founders.
Company
Founded in 2011 and based in Barcelona, Akamon is a developer of online social games, which are available via the firm's own website, Facebook and mobile devices.
Akamon operates in Spain and Latin America and employs 70 staff, with plans to recruit a further 20 before the end of the year. The company reported revenues of $8.5m in 2012, expecting to hit $16m by the end of the current year.
