Fondo Italiano invests around €5m in Elco
Fondo Italiano d'Investimento has invested around €5m in printed circuit board producer Elco SpA in exchange for a minority stake.
The transaction is the fund's 12th investment to date since its final closing in 2010. Investment will support Elco's plans for market consolidation through organic and acquisitive growth in both Italian and international markets. The capital injection will also underpin further development of Elco's European plants.
Company
Founded in 1970 and based in the province of L'Aquila, Elco produces printed circuit boards for electronic systems in the high-technology market. The company has plants in Italy, France, Spain and China, and employs 330 staff. Over the last decade, Elco has increased its sales volume through organic growth and acquisition under the direction of managing director and principal shareholder Carlo Guidetti. Last year, the company reported a turnover of €26m.
