Ixys buys private equity-backed Incide
Nasdaq-listed semiconductors firm Ixys has wholly acquired electronic components designer Integrated Circuit Design (Incide) from Talde and Gestión Capital Riesgo del País Vasco (SGECR).
Both GPs and the firm's founders all exited the company through the trade sale.
Ixys is a manufacturer of semiconductors based in Milpitas, California. The firm generated revenues of €275m last year and employs more than 1,200 staff.
Previous funding
Talde and SGECR invested €1m each for a 40% stake in Incide in 2008. According to unquote" data, Talde carried out the transaction via the Sendogi Capital Fund, a €3m vehicle that invests in companies developing innovative technologies in Gipuzkoa. SGECR invested through Elkano XXI, a €12m fund that focuses on technology-based projects at all development stages.
Company
Based in San Sebastián, Incide was established in 2000 by a group of engineers led by Javier Hernández. The firm specialises in the design of electronic components for use in the wireless and mobile telephone segments.
Incide generates a turnover of around €2m and employs 18 staff. Revenues are generated exclusively abroad, in Germany, Switzerland, Austria and France.
The company will be rebranded as Ixys San Sebastián following the deal.
