
21 Partners backs Farnese Vini
21 Partners has acquired a majority stake in Italian wine producer Farnese Vini, according to reports in the local press.
The fresh capital commitment will support the expansion of the firm into new international markets, the launch of new products and an increased focus on exports.
The Franco-Italian GP is thought to have invested through the 21 Investimenti II vehicle, which closed on €280m in 2007.
Company
Founded in 1994 and based in Ortona, Farnese Vini is an Italian winery focused on the production and retail of wines originating in central and southern Italy. The company also produces oils and grappa.
In 2012, Farnese Vini reported a €50m turnover, up from €30m the previous year.
