Ambienta plans €300m fund
Italian environmental investor Ambienta is looking to raise €300m for its second fund, according to reports.
Ambienta II will invest in European companies focused on energy saving, gas and pollution control technologies.
The GP confirmed it would begin fundraising in early 2013 at the unquote" Italia congress in November last year, intending to raise a larger fund than the previous vehicle, Ambienta I, which closed just shy of €218m in 2009.
Ambienta completed three deals in 2012, with the buyouts of Tattile and Tower Light and a growth capital injection into FoundOcean. The GP also opened a Munich office and made several new hires last year.
Investors
LPs in Ambienta's previous fund included local and international financial institutions, including seven insurance companies and five pension funds.
Investments
The pan-European fund will have the same strategy as Ambienta I, where emphasis was placed on renewable energy sources, energy efficiency, pollution reduction, water, waste management and recycling.
People
Nino Tronchetti Provera is CEO and founder of Ambienta.
