
Caixa Capital Risc launches €9m seed fund
Spanish venture investor Caixa Capital Risc has launched its latest seed fund, Caixa Capital Micro II.
The fund currently holds €9m, entirely committed by La Caixa. The vehicle remains open to private commitments.
Investments
Caixa Capital Micro II will follow the investment strategy of Caixa Capital Micro, providing seed capital to Spanish SMEs.
The fund will enable entrepreneurs to bring their product or service to market and validate the business model, make new hires and meet marketing costs.
The vehicle is expected to make commitments primarily in the form of shareholder loans convertible to equity. The fund will co-invest with business angels, family offices and incubators.
Portfolio companies in the preceding vehicle, Caixa Capital Micro, include therapeutics agents firm Minoryx and online office equipment retailer Deskidea.
Investors
La Caixa has committed €9m to the fund. The vehicle remains open to further LP commitments.
