Italian-German start-up Wise raises €1m
High-Tech Gründerfonds (HTGF), Atlante Seed, b-to-v Partners and Agite have backed medical devices company Wiringless Implantable Stretchable Electronics (Wise) in a €1m seed round.
The new funding will be used to improve the prototype of Wise's medical device for the neurostimulation market, and enter the pre-clinical development phase for its products.
Company
Wise develops and manufactures neurostimulation devices, which are usually implanted in the spinal cord or brain of patients suffering from neurodegenerative diseases. Wise claims that its products will be more reliable, less invasive and cheaper than the commonly used material, which is stiff and often requires surgical replacement of the electrodes.
Having spun out of the University of Milan in 2011, Wise has offices in Berlin and Milan.
People
Benedikt Kronberger is a partner at b-to-v. Alvise Bonivento represented Atlante in the transaction. Christian Jung is partner at HTGF. Mario Zanone Poma is Agite's president. Luca Ravagnan is Wise's CEO and co-founder.
