Magnum Capital buys Nace from Baring Private Equity

The company's new backers intend to drive its international expansion. The acquisition is the ninth completed by Magnum Capital and its first in the education space.

Baring backed the company in 2006, taking a 39% stake in the asset for an undisclosed sum via the fund Baring Venture Partners, according to unquote" data.

Nace has 21 schools in France, India, Spain, the UK and US. The company covers all levels of education from pre-school to high school and technical degrees. The company places particular focus on international education with language training, academic study, professional training, sport and music. Nace has around 12,000 students across five countries, more than half of which are based outside of Spain.

The firm was established in 1988 and is based in Madrid.

People
Enrique de Leyva is founding partner of Magnum and new vice chairman of Nace. Fellow managing partner at Magnum Ángel Corcóstegui will also join the company's board of directors, alongside Joao Talone and Jose Antonio Marco, founding partner and partner respectively. Javier Bernal is a partner at Baring.
