Auctus acquires Italpresse
German private equity house Auctus Capital has acquired Italpresse Industrie, an Italian producer of aluminium die-casting machines, from Industrie Saleri Italo.
Following completion of the deal, Italpresse will invest in new staff and the development of its production facilities in Brescia.
Italian newspaper Corriere della Sera, which anticipated the acquisition at the end of January, estimates a deal value in the region of €60m. The publication also suggests Auctus wholly acquired the company.
Auctus stated Italpresse complements its portfolio company StrikoWestofen, a German developer of high-grade furnace installations, which it acquired in February 2013.
The GP recently closed its fourth fund on €230m.
Debt
UBI Banca, GE Capital Interbanca and Unicredit provided a debt package to support the deal.
Company
Founded in 1969 and headquartered in Brescia, Italpresse supplies the automotive industry and foundries with die-casting machines for producing aluminium components. The group, which also includes the Gauss and Saleri brands, generated a turnover of €87m in 2014.
People
Nicolas Himmelmann and Thomas Lott led the deal for Auctus.
