
Torsa Capital injects €500,000 into Hielos de Asturias
Spanish investor Torsa Capital has injected €500,000 into Hielos de Asturias, a manufacturer and distributor of ice and frozen dough.
The investment in Hielos de Asturias was made through Fondo de Capital Riesgo Gijón Invierte I, a VC fund established by the Gijón Town Council to back innovative firms in the region. Managed by Torsa Capital, the fund holds capital commitments of €6m and has a 10-year lifespan.
The fresh funding will boost the firm's growth and enable the company to hire a further 10 members of staff.

Based in the Polígono de Somonte, Gijón, Hielos de Asturias trades under the name Cubers and manufactures and distributes ice and frozen dough. The firm has facilities of 2,000 square metres and currently employs 17 members of staff.
