Faraday participates in $1.9m round for PlaySpace
Spanish VC Faraday Venture Partners has participated in a $1.9m funding round for PlaySpace, a developer and operator of Spanish and Portuguese social games.
Crowdfunding website PeopleFund also contributed to the round.
The fresh capital will allow the company to develop and launch new games, as well as expand into Portuguese and Spanish-speaking markets in Latin America.
Company
Founded in 2011 and grown at Spanish incubator Mola.com, PlaySpace designs and operates single- and multi-player games for use on social platforms. All games are offered free of charge, but users are able to purchase virtual currency and goods. The company targets the Spanish and Portuguese-speaking markets and currently counts more than 3 million users.
The company is based in Palma de Mallorca and has seven members of staff.
