Cabiedes & Partners reinvests in Uvinum
Cabiedes & Partners has led a second round of funding for online marketplace for alcoholic beverages and gourmet products Uvinum, investing a total of €830,000 from its fund and business angels.
Investment was made through the firm's €25m angel fund, which held its first close in March 2011. The Madrid-based vehicle, which was launched in October 2009, has a lifespan of 8+1+1 and an investment period of four years, and will invest in internet start-ups in Spain.
Investment will support the organic growth of the company and the application of its model to other product markets.
Previous funding
In 2010, Cabiedes participated in a first round of funding for Uvinum alongside angel investors. The GP invested €300,000.
Company
Founded in 2009, Uvinum is an online marketplace selling beers, wines, spirits, accessories and gourmet products that allows users to review and recommend products via an integrated social network facility. There are currently around 20,000 products on the website and 700,000 registered users.

CEO Nico Bour, Albert Garcia and Albert López are co-founders of Uvinum. Luis Martin Cabiedes and José Martin Cabiedes are partners at Cabiedes.
