
Fondo Italiano backs Farmol
Fondo Italiano di Investimento has invested €11.25m in Bergamo-based aerosol company Farmol in exchange for a minority stake.
The investment includes a capital injection and a convertible loan. It will underpin the company's international expansion.
The government-backed private equity house has completed 19 direct investments to date, totalling €224.3m, and made €245.5m worth of indirect investments. Fondo Italiano has so far invested 43% of its total capital commitments.

Founded in 1946 and based in Bergamo, Italy, Farmol manufactures aerosols and liquids for the cosmetics market, as well as the hygiene products and detergents industries. The company counts Unilever, Henkel and Procter & Gamble among its clients. As part of its international strategy, Farmol recently opened a new plant in Hungary.
The firm currently reports a €46m turnover. It employs around 110 members of staff in Italy and 40 abroad.
