
Principia backs Im3D with €2m
Italian VC investor Principia has injected €2m into oncologic medical imaging company Im3D Clinic Sud.
The investor bought a 49% stake in the company through the Principia II vehicle, which closed on €61.3m in 2009.
Im3D will use the funds to grow its operations.

Founded in 2006 and based in Turin, Im3D is a medical imaging company focused on oncologic screening. The firm's products currently include workstations with accompanying proprietary software for the detection of colon cancer and breast cancer.
People
As part of the transaction, professor Francesco Antonio Archetti of the university of Milano Bicocca has been appointed president of the firm. Roberto Mazzei and Alessandro Damiano are respectively managing director and fund manager at Principia.
