Antares backs Chili
Antares Private Equity has bought a 15.4% stake in Italian film streaming platform Chili.
The management will hold a 43.2% stake with parent company Fastweb retaining 41.4% of the firm.
Chili will direct the fresh capital towards the expansion of its services offering across Italy.
Antares is in the process of raising its maiden fund, which has a €50m target and has so far attracted €15m. Average investments will be €5-20m in companies with a turnover of €10-100m.
Company
Chili span out of Italian broadband telecommunications company Fastweb in 2011. The company provides a platform for film streaming to its subscribed users. Films can be rented or bought via the platform and streamed onto computers and tablets.
