Fondo Italiano backs Labomar
Fondo Italiano di Investimento has injected €5.5m into Italian dietary supplements producer Labomar in exchange for a minority stake.
The investment will underpin an increased focus on research and development and support the firm's international expansion.
Fondo Italiano has completed 21 investments to date and is in the closing stages for a further three transactions.
Company
Founded in 1999 and based in Istrana, Treviso, Labomar produces and distributes dietary supplements in solid or liquid form. Clients include large pharmaceutical companies as well as herbalist and chemist retail stores.
The company reports a €20m turnover and employs 110 members of staff.

Gabriele Cappellini is CEO of Fondo Italiano. Walter Bertin is CEO of Labomar.
