
P101 backs Cortilia
Italian venture firm P101 has led a €1.5m round for Cortilia, a Milan-based online local grocery marketplace.
Cortilia has raised €2.5m from Seed Digital Investments, Club Italia investimenti and several business angels since its inception in 2011. The company and its backers have agreed a €5m investment plan to fund Cortilia in the medium term.
The company intends to use the investment to expand in other cities in the north of Italy, to make new hires and to widen its range of products. It also plans to develop its web platform and app offerings. It will also develop relationships with 50 new farmers.

Launched in January 2011, Cortilia is an agricultural marketplace enabling customers to order fresh fruit and vegetables online, which are then delivered to their homes from the closest farmer. Customers can set up a subscription or order according to their needs. It currently has 50,000 customers and generated €2m in revenues so far in 2014.
