I2C backs Keramat with €600,000
Government-backed Galician venture capital fund I2C has injected €600,000 into ceramic biomaterials firm Keramat.
The company will receive up to €3m in funding from the fund by 2015.
Backed by the Spanish ministry of economy and industry, the vehicle has around €20m available to fund research, development and innovation in Galicia. Keramat is the fund's second investment, following the backing of Nanogap in February this year.
Company
Based in Nuevo Milladoiro, Ames, and founded in 1999, Keramat develops, manufactures and markets ceramic biomaterials for bone regeneration. Products reduce the patients recovery time and are used in orthopaedics, neurosurgery, dentistry, maxillofacial surgery and veterinary medicine.
The firm currently employs 14 members of staff and intends to grow its workforce by 60% over the next three years. Keramat is present in Italy, Turkey, Israel and Germany and aims to expand into Russia and the US.
