Fondo Italiano enters entertainment market
Fondo Italiano di Investimento has made its first transaction in the entertainment and events management market with a €10m investment.
The state-supported fund will pursue a corporate collaboration in the first half of 2014 with Italian Entertainment Group, which has holdings in Filmmaster Group, Civita Cultura and CineDistrict Entertainment. Several other entertainment companies have expressed an interest in joining the collaboration.
All stakes will be united under one holding company following the transaction. On the basis of 2013 forecasts, it is estimated that the combined company will have a turnover of around €140m.
Post-investment, the group will focus on international expansion and the strengthening of Filmmaster's presence in foreign markets. The company is currently involved in several international events, including the management of events related to the 2016 Rio Olympic Games.
