CoBe Capital buys Hatria from Marazzi
CoBe Capital has acquired Italian ceramics company Hatria from Marazzi Group, owned by NYSE-listed Mohawk Industries.
The new owner will focus on strengthening the firm's operational and financial fundamentals and the expansion of the company into international markets.
In 2012, Permira and Private Equity Partners sold Marazzi Group, a tiling and ceramics firm, in a €1.7bn trade sale to Mohawk Industries. The GPs first backed the firm in 2004 as part of an all-equity buyout with a combined share of 33%. In 2006, they reduced their share through a part-flotation, before exiting entirely the following year. In 2008, they stepped back in as part of a buyout.
Company
Founded in 1994 and based in Teramo, Hatria produces and retails ceramic sanitary products. The firm offers a range of products for bathrooms, including wash basins, toilets, bidets, shelves and accessories. Hatria has a 65,000-square-metre production plant in Teramo and sells its products across Europe, Africa, the Middle East and Asia.
