21 Partners buys Poligof
21 Partners has acquired an 80% stake in the Italian backsheet film producer Poligof.
The MBO saw the management and the founding family buy the remaining stakes, each acquiring 10%.
The GP plans to raise the compay's value by gaining new customers in the European market as well as through expansion into India and Russia.
The purchase of Poligof was the second acquisition financed through the 21 Investimenti III fund, which is currently finalising its fundraising. The first buyout was Sifi, an Italian producer of eye-related medical diagnostic equipment, in which the GP acquired a minority stake in April 2015. According to 21 Partners, the Investimenti III fund will close above its €300m target.
Company
Founded in 1979, Poligof produces backsheet film for hygienic disposable of products like baby diapers, feminine hygiene and adult hygiene products.
The company is based in Pieve Fissiraga and has 130 employees working in two production facilities. The most recent reported turnover was €100m, with 70% of the company's sales generated from exports.
