VenturCap launches new fund
Catalonian VC investor VenturCap has launched a new fund, VenturCap II.
VenturCap is the venture capital arm of GVC Gaesco, an independent financial group based in Spain. The VC has backed 16 firms with total capital commitments of around €5m. It recently took part in a €600,000 funding round for e-commerce solutions provider Oonair.

VenturCap is planning to hold a single close for the fund, which will not be open to new investors. The vehicle has an initial target of €3m, a third of which will be committed by the Catalan Finance Institute (ICF). Remaining capital commitments will be made by LPs in the previous fund, including the Molins Lopez-Rodo family, the Valero family, the Roviralta Foundation, VenturCap CEO Victoriano Peralta, and Maria Vallvé and Joan Hortalà, the main shareholders of GVC Gaesco.
Investments
The fund will make growth capital investments in Spanish SMEs primarily in the e-commerce, software and health sectors.
