Kibo launches €45m fund
Kibo Ventures has launched a €45m fund to back internet and mobile start-ups, and held a first close on €42m.
The new fund, Fondo Amerigo Innvierte Spain Technologies, is part of a €300m network of venture capital funds named Amérigo and launched by Telefónica Digital Venture Capital, the venture subsidiary of Spanish telecommunications firm Telefónica.
Investors
Investors in the fund include Spanish insurer Mutua Madrileña, VC manager Axis-Grupo ICO, a Spanish Family Office and private investors.
Investments
The fund will back internet and mobile startups with plans for global expansion.
People
Kibo Ventures is managed by three founding partners: Aquilino Peña and Javier Torremocha head the investment team while José María Amusategui is head of business development.
