
Cofides commits €5.6m to Grupo Sampol
Spanish investor Cofides has committed €5.6m to Grupo Sampol, a Spanish energy and engineering firm.
Cofides committed capital from the Fund for Investments Abroad (FIEX) vehicle. The funding will support the construction of a co-generation power plant for the supply of electricity and water facilities to a company on the outskirts of Rome, Italy.
Cofides is a public-private company that backs firms in a foreign country where there is a Spanish interest, or those with plans for international projects.

Founded in 1934 in Mallorca, Sampol focuses on the design and implementation of electronics installations, telecommunications infrastructure, control systems and energy projects.
The company employs more than 700 members of staff and is present in Spain, Italy, Mexico, Dominican Republic, Jamaica, Costa Rica, Panama, Peru, Colombia and Cape Verde.
