
Caixa Capital Risk leads €1.25m round for Forever US
Caixa Capital Risk, the growth capital investment arm of La Caixa, has led a €1.25m investment round for Spanish funeral sector operator Forever US.
Caixa Capital acquired a 30% stake in the company through its Caixa Innvierte Industria fund. Co-founders José Carlos Ramos and Ignasi Esteban and private investors participated in the funding round.
The fresh capital will allow the company to boost its production process and its presence in the Spanish and European market.
According to press reports, the company will open its first retail store in France later this year, after which it plans to expand in Latin America.
Caixa Innvierte Industria fund has a total committed capital of €35m. The vehicle targets Spanish companies in the industrial technology sector.

Founded in 2012, Forever US designs, manufactures and distributes funeral headstones, tombs, crypts and funeral urns. Headquartered in Barcelona, the company employs 11 staff and generated a turnover of €400,000 in 2015.
The company aims to generate €1m of revenues in 2016.
