Hamilton Lane announce leadership changes

Hamilton Lane has promoted Richard Hope to head of EMEA and Jim Strang to chairman.
Strang will take the newly created position of chairman. In his new role, he will continue to focus on the firm's investment activities in EMEA, particularly primary funds. He will also continue to support business development and client relationships, while continuing to serve on the firm's investment committees.

Strang is currently head of EMEA, and oversees the firm's London office. He also serves as a non-executive director at Hg Capital Trust and is a senior adviser to the private equity group at Bain & Co.
Before joining Hamilton Lane, Strang was a partner at private equity firm Dunedin. Prior to that, he founded and acted as head of European buyouts at Hermes GPE, previously known as Gartmore Private Equity.
Hope will replace Strang in the position of head of EMEA. He will continue to lead the secondary and co-investment presence of Hamilton Lane in the region, and will lead the firm's London office. Hope is currently a managing director on the firm's secondary and co-investment teams.
Hope, who joined Hamilton Lane as a member of the fund investment team, was promoted to managing director in secondaries and co-investments in 2016. He previously worked as a director at Alliance Trust Equity Partners, an Edinburgh-based private equity firm.
Hamilton Lane is an alternative investment management firm with approximately $481bn in assets under management and supervision, as of 30 September 2019.
