NVM appoints 3i’s Karl Cockwill

Karl Cockwill has joined NVM Private Equity as a portfolio manager in its new Manchester office.
Cockwill was previously a portfolio manager at 3i, where he spent 11 years working on investments in the North of England, Scotland and Northern Ireland.
During his time at 3i, Cockwill managed 29 exits, including the 2006 sale of independent builders' merchant JP Corry, which generated a 43% IRR. He also managed the sales of Land Instruments International to Ametek and Armstrong Laing to Business Objects.
In January, NVM appointed former Altium Capital associate Liam May to its investment team, who will also work from the Manchester office. The GP recently invested £3.5m in Gateshead-based snack manufacturer It's All Good.
