GCP appoints YFM's Whitman as investment director

Growth Capital Partners (GCP) has appointed YFM Equity Partners’ Giles Whitman as investment director.

GCP stated Whitman will take a "lead role" on the deployment of its third fund, a £160m vehicle launched in 2010.

Whitman leaves his role as investment director at YFM, having joined in September 2011. During his time with the firm he worked on deals including the £4m BIMBO of construction software company Business Collaborator and the £6m MBO of retail data provider Springboard Research.

Prior to joining YFM, Whitman spent four years at Foresight Group, where he worked on investments in the environmental infrastructure team.
