Phoenix invests £18m to back ERA MBO
Phoenix Private Equity has invested £18m to back the management buyout of ERA Technology from Cobham plc.
ERA is a specialist engineering consulting business focused on industrial markets, which provides condition assessment, materials design and testing, forensic engineering, safety assessments and failure investigation services. The investor is backing a team led by Rob Dilworth to lead the buyout alongside the company's existing management team.
Funding will support the growth and development of ERA, and additional capital has been earmarked to support further development of the business into the testing, inspection, certification and consultancy sector. This is the second investment from the Phoenix Equity Partners 2010 fund, which raised £450m at final close in June 2010.
