LDC sells Cable Management Group to Thomas & Betts Corporation
LDC has sold its majority stake in UK-based Cable Management Group (CMG) to US firm Thomas & Betts Corporation for approximately $110m.
LDC stated the deal provided "an excellent return" on its original investment. It backed the management buy-out of CMG in 2007, in a deal that valued the company at £60m. The investment was made to support new product development, expansion of export markets and future acquisitions.
Birmingham-based CMG manufactures a broad range of flexible conduit and fitting systems used to protect critical power and data systems from fire, dust, moisture and corrosion. The company operates through three brands: Adaptaflex, Kopex and Harnessflex, and targets markets including industrial OEM, construction and infrastructure, petrochemical and transportation. It currently employs around 200 people.
