Permira and AXA PE to build online travel giant
Permira-backed eDreams and AXA PE-backed Go Voyages are set to acquire UK online travel agent Opodo from Amadeus, according to media reports.
The transaction is reportedly valued in the €400-500m range. By merging Opodo with their portfolio companies, AXA PE and Permira would create a European internet travel giant to rival America's Expedia and Orbitz.
AXA Private Equity declined to comment further on the deal at this time.
