
Balderton Capital et al. inject €3m into Socowave
Balderton Capital has led a €3m series-A funding round for Irish telecommunications specialist Socowave.
The funding will enable Socowave to accelerate the development of technology aiming to increase the data handling capacity of cellular radio infrastructure, whilst reducing its energy consumption.
Socowave is a Dublin-based developer of advanced wireless access systems for mobile communications. The company, founded in 2008, offers active panel antenna technology, which allows mobile phone operators to apply beamforming in order to improve cellular efficiency as basestations communicate with handsets.
