
Braveheart to support Aberdeen University IP
Braveheart and Aberdeen University have agreed to commercialise intellectual property coming out of the institution. Braveheart will provide funding from its Alpha EIS Fund to finance spin-outs from the university and to fund projects that lead to licensing deals. The total funding package is anticipated to be around £5m, including private client monies. Braveheart will also provide contact to experienced investors for mentoring support. In return, the university will grant Braveheart an exclusive right of first refusal in respect of the commercial investment opportunities in relevant defined areas. The agreement is expected to have a total lifespan of 15 years.
