Duke Street poaches 3i's McMinnies
Mid-market private equity firm Duke Street has appointed 3i’s Stuart McMinnies as a partner in its London office.
McMinnies left his role as senior partner with 3i, having joined the firm 19 years ago.
At Duke Street, McMinnies will focus on deals in the business services space. His previous experience includes investments spanning the testing and inspection, transport and logistics, facilities management, consultancy and industrial services sectors.
During his time at 3i, McMinnies worked on deals in the UK, continental Europe and emerging markets. Investments included ABX Logistics, which 3i exited via a €750m trade sale in 2008; SR Technics, which it sold for €1bn in 2004; and directory services provider Fonecta, which was divested in a €1.8bn SBO in 2006.
Duke Street launched its new deal-by-deal funding model in 2012. The GP completed its largest investment to date in August 2014 when it joined a consortium acquiring a 65% stake in UK care provider Voyage Care from HgCapital for £375m.
