Brit Insurance shares jump after declining private equity offer
Brit Insurance shares jumped 20% this morning after the firm rejected a private equity approach, according to reports.
The firm is thought to have received an offer worth £10 per share, valuing the business at around £570m, from Apollo.
Brit Insurance confirmed it had rejected an unsolicited takeover approach after markets closed last night, and shares increased by over 155p, or 20%, to 880p in early trading.
