
Fuel.Ventures launches first EIS fund
Recently founded UK venture capital house Fuel.Ventures has launched its first Enterprise Investment Scheme (EIS) fund, targeting the e-commerce sector.
The open-ended vehicle will seek to make seed and series-A investments in start-ups across the UK and Europe.
Fuel.Ventures EIS Fund 1 will be led by Mark Pearson, founder of e-commerce business Markco Media, which was acquired by Monetise in a £55m deal in 2014. Markco owned brands including discount voucher website MyVoucherCodes.
Fuel.Ventures portfolio companies include online marketing software business VE Interactive, voucher codes business VouChaCha and point-of-sale software provider Shopwave.
Paul Rous, formerly of Goldman Sachs, UBS and General Asset Management, is a co-founder of Fuel.Ventures.
