Three bolt-ons for August-backed Funeral Services Partnership
August Equity portfolio company Funeral Services Partnership (FSP) has completed the bolt-on acquisitions of Gillman Funeral Services, A.V. Ridout Funeral Directors and C&T Radmall Services.
August Equity originally acquired FSP in 2009 and commited £23m to pursue a buy-and-build strategy. It believes the three new acquisitions will significantly enhance the size and geographical reach of FSP.
FSP is a consolidator of funeral care providers, and performs around 3,600 funerals per year. The company, which is based in Redditch, West Midlands, was founded in 2007 and employs approximately 100 people.
Gillmans is a funeral services group operating out of seven branches in South West London; it represents FSP's first acquisition in the capital. A.V. Ridout operates from branches in Highcliffe-on-Sea and New Milton and will complement FSP's existing branches in Hampshire. Meanwhile, C&T Radmall operates from three branches in Sussex.
August Equity foresees good acquisition opportunities in the fragmented funeral services market and already has further bolt-ons in the pipeline for FSP.
