Graphite Capital leads U-POL MBO
Graphite Capital has completed the £130m tertiary buyout of automotive care products U-POL from AAC Capital Partners.
This is the second time that Graphite has invested in U-POL, having backed a management buy-out in 2002. AAC then bought a 71% stake in 2005 in a £75m secondary buyout.
Graphite decided to invest again based on its knowledge of the business, and the company's resilience through the downturn. It foresees signicant growth prospects for U-POL and looks forward to working with the management team.
U-POL was established in the mid-1950s and offers a diversified product portfolio of fillers, coatings, aerosols and adhesives for the professional automotive repair market. The group is present in 110 countries worldwide and has grown at an average of 10% per year for the past decade.
