HgCapital announces Rainmaker '08 results
Rothschild has won HgCapital's Rainmaker of the Year 2008 award for being the most successful deal originator in the UK private equity mid-market. The award is recognition of Rothschild's ability to originate and manage transactions in challenging market environments. During the year, Rothschild advised on 76 deals that met the Rainmaker criteria, including the sale of Alliance Medical and Fat Face. Rothschild ended the dominance of Hawkpoint Partners, which had won the award two years running.
The Rainmaker Awards, which celebrated their 10-year anniversary in 2008, honour the most successful deal originators in the UK private equity mid-market. Deals completed in 2007 in Northern Europe with enterprise values of £50m-1bn qualified for inclusion. Dominic Hollamby scooping the Healthcare award and Majid Ishaq bringing home the Consumer & Leisure title secured a trio of wins for Rothschild on the night. 'These awards demonstrate very clearly that the best deal makers continue to operate across market cycles and that despite current tough conditions, there are still excellent opportunities in the UK mid-market,' commented Nic Humphries, CEO of HgCapital.
