Platina and ETF back TAG Energy Solutions MBO
Platina and Environmental Technologies Fund have backed the management buyout of renewable energy equipment company TAG Energy Solutions with a £20m investment.
Both investors believe the supply chain surrounding the production of renewable energy presents interesting growth opportunities. ETF added that TAG addresses the need for local suppliers catering to the UK wind farm industry, which now relies heavily on imported materials.
Billingham-based TAG Energy Solutions was founded in 2006. It has since then refurbished a yard on the River Tees and will use the fresh capital to build the UK's first offshore windmill tubular foundation manufacturing facility for North Sea wind farms.
