Longbow leads £1.7m Ambicare funding
Longbow Capital has led a £1.7m funding round in medical devices firm Ambicare Health.
The Scottish Venture Fund also invested, alongside DC Thomson and private investors.
The new capital will be used to launch the company's lead product Ambulight PDT, a light-emitting sticking plaster for the treatment of cancer.
In early 2008 the company closed a £2.5m funding round with major contributions from Longbow Capital and the Scottish Venture Fund.
Based in St Andrews, Ambicare Health (previously known as Lumicure) is a spinout of Dundee's Ninewells Hospital and St Andrews Univeristy. The company has developed a portfolio of wearable light sources for medical and consumer healthcare applications.
