Wellington Partners leads EUR8m investment in Qype

Wellington Partners has led a EUR8m round in city guide network company Qype GmbH, with historical investors Advent Venture Partners and Partech International also participating.

Founded in Hamburg, Germany, in 2005, Qype is a local search and recommendation website that features reviews on places, local services and businesses written by users. Qype launched in the UK in September 2007 and is also present in France, Ireland, Austria and Switzerland. The company is preparing to launch in five new countries. Qype also has a mobile offering and one geared towards iPhone.
