
RWE Innogy launches venture capital fund
In an attempt to strengthen its venture capital activities, RWE Innogy has established Innogy Venture Capital GmbH.
RWE Innogy has taken shares in eight young technology companies throughout Europe since its formation in 2008, investing more than €50m as equity capital.
The aim of the venture capital arm of the German energy company is to drive forward technology in the field of renewable energy sources. The investments in the new venture capital fund are being made by Innogy Renewables Technology Fund I GmbH & Co KG, and Innogy Venture Capital remains a RWE Innogy subsidiary.
Crispin Leick has been appointed as managing director for the operational business while Aiwar Markow will serve as managing director for finance.
