LSP leads €16.2m series-C for Vivasure Medical
Dutch venture capital house Life Science Partners (LSP) has led a тЌ16.2m series-C round for Irish medical device producer Vivasure Medical.
LSP led the funding round via its LSP Health Economics Fund, alongside German VC house Evonik Venture Capital and Italy's Panakés Partners, as well as existing investor Fountain Healthcare Partners.
The management team intends to use the capital injection to commercialise the company's flagship product, focusing on sales across Europe and the US. Moreover, the fresh capital will provide financial support for the execution of a US Food and Drug Administration regulatory study, while the device has already been approved by the European authorities and received the CE mark in January 2016.

Established in 2009 and headquartered in Galway, Vivasure develops a bioabsorbable implant platform technology focused on percutaneous vessel closure.
