Ananda leads £2.5m series-A round for Repositive
Germany-based Ananda Ventures has led a £2.5m series-A funding round for genomics information business Repositive, investing from its Ananda Social Venture Fund.
Amadeus Capital Partners and Repositive chair Jonathan Milner increased their investment, having previously participated at the seed funding stage. New funding was also put in by London-based venture firm Force Over Mass Capital. The total amount raised stands at £3.3m.
Ananda Social Venture Fund now has 13 firms in its portfolio. It invests via two funds, worth €30m collectively, in firms it believes will solve social challenges as well as provide financial returns. Most of its focus is on the German market but it occasionally makes deals in the rest of Europe.
Repositive plans on using the funding to expand its range of data sources and further develop its commercial services and premium features.

Cambridge-based Repositive is a cloud biology company developing tools to improve access to genomic research data. Since its launch in September 2016, the community-driven Repositive platform has grown to a million data sets and the company has expanded its global user base across the pharma, biotech and academia spaces.
