
Oxford leads £3m round for Wrisk
Oxford Capital has led a £3m funding round for Wrisk, a British consumer-focused insurance aggregation and administration platform.
The fresh capital, which is complemented by a £500,000 crowdfunding round, will enable the company to brings its product to market in 2018. The company will initially focus on contents insurance, before expanding into other market verticals including motor insurance and building insurance.
Wrisk has secured agreements with Munich Re, Hiscox and others to act as managing general agent for the provision of coverage including buildings, contents, motor, travel and specialist lines.
The insurance technology space – often referred to as insurtech – has seen a drastic increase in aggregate value from non-public funders in recent years, as was recently explored in depth by unquote".
Company
Founded in 2016, London-based Wrisk develops a mobile platform that enables consumers to compare insurance products, purchase and manage policies through their lifecycles, and make claims. The platform also includes its own risk scoring system, similar to a credit rating.
