Edge backs Airbeem
Edge Investments has acquired a large minority stake in UK tech firm Airbeem.
The investment will be used to grow operations and roll out the platform through increased sales and marketing activity.
Capital for the investment was drawn from Edge's £40m Creative Enterprise Fund, which launched in 2015 and is backed by the British Business Bank.
The deal follows a flurry of small investments in similar firms from Edge, including video platform Newsflare (December 2016); podcast platform AudioBoom (April 2017); factual TV production company Antidote (June 2017); and TRX, an online deal-making platform for TV rights licensing (October 2017).
Company
Airbeem is a software-as-a-service platform that enables content owners to publish and monetise their video content. It is based in London and was launched in 2012.
