VCs back TaxScouts with £1.2m investment
UK VCs Seedcamp, Speedinvest and Finch Capital have invested £1.2m in TaxScouts, a website that helps users do their taxes.
TaxScouts plans to use the funding to quadruple its network of accountants and, longer-term, to reduce the workload of accountants by 80% through further automation and data processing.
Company
Established in London in 2017, TaxScouts helps users to file their self-assessed tax returns. It uses a combination of a network of accountants and automation software.
For £99, taxpayers can go online for a tax assessment that will help them understand their personal income tax situation, suggesting ways to reduce their tax bill and explaining what information is needed to move forward.
