Notion and Mosaic back €4.4m Vortexa series-A
Notion Capital has led a тЌ4.4m series-A for Vortexa, an AI-based energy intelligence provider.
Mosaic Ventures also participated in the round.
Vortexa plans to use the funding to expand globally and scale its proprietary technology that provides real-time energy trading intelligence. The firm recently opened an office in Singapore and plans to open another in Houston this year.
Company
Established in 2016 and based in London, Vortexa provides energy trading data. Using satellites and ship-tracking technology along with machine learning and AI, it predicts and maps the movements of tankers. It has a team of 30 data scientists, engineers and energy analysts.
The company was founded by Fabio Kuhn, former head of trading technology and analytics at BP, and Etienne Amic, former head of European energy at JP Morgan.
