DN and Octopus back Eve’s £2.5m series-A
British mattress business Eve has raised a £2.5m series-A from DN Capital and Octopus Ventures.
The two investors provided £1.25m of funding each. The fresh capital will be used for an expansion to the US, further marketing efforts in the UK and a new product development launch.
DN Capital usually invests in digital media, e-commerce and software companies in Europe and the US, committing up to €10m throughout the investment period.
Octopus Ventures invests in startups in the fintech, software, hardware, infrastructure, internet and consumer sectors. The VC has £430m under management.
Previous funding
In February 2015, Octopus invested £225,000 in Eve, topping up a £330,000 seed round led by DN Capital and FJ Labs.
Company
Founded by former Zalando UK and Groupon UK head Jas Bagniewski in 2015, Eve is an online mattress retailer. The company's product is designed, engineered and made in the UK and sold to customers online. Eve currently sells its mattresses in both Germany and the UK.

Lawrence Barclay is a principal at DN Capital. Luke Hakes is an investment director at Octopus Ventures. Jas Bagniewski is CEO of Eve.
